Eminem goes platinum in the second week while Drake holds no. 2 spot

Grammy winning rapper Eminem, remained no. 1 at this week with 313,000 sold which brings his grand total to a whopping 1,057,700 records sold a in 14 day period. Drakes Thank me Later also remained solid with a grand total of 104,900 sold this week, which brings his grand total to 708,900 records sold in a three week period. You gotta love the loyal fans these two have.

“Overall album sales in this past chart week (ending July 4) totaled 5.54 million units, down 9% compared to the sum last week (6.07 million) and down 20% compared to the comparable sales week of 2009 (6.96 million).”

Eminem’s ‘Recovery’ Highest Debut of the Year

Sorry Drake. Looks like Eminem is murdering everything else in his path -sales wise that is. According to MTV.com, his latest effort, ‘Recovery,’ sold 741,000 in it’s first week alone. We haven’t seen sales numbers like since NSync reigned the music charts – and that was a pretty dark time for all of us. ‘Recovery’ marks Eminem’s 6th, yes 6th, consecutive #1 album. Crazy! Considering the fact that the album already leaked a few weeks early, these numbers are pretty incredible. Guess Eminem’s got a whole lot of support backing his latest effort. Don’t feel too sorry for Drake, his reign may have been short lived but we’re sure it was sweet while it lasted.

Jay-Z & Eminem team up for stadium gigs
