Congratulations to everyone over at Fela! for winning 3 Tony’s this past weekend. For those who don’t know, the show is about legendary musician, activist and father of Afro-beat Fela Kuti. The colorful show has been backed by some heavy hitters in the music industry as well as Hollywood with Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, Jay Z and ?uestlove acting as producers.
We’re definitely not the only ones who love the show. Aside from being the most talked about show of the past year, lots of folks are upset with the Tony’s, claiming that Fela! should have won for best musical but lost out because of a new voting system.
